This is 1 of 9 extant panels within this set of the "Acts of the Apostles" series. The first series (at the Vatican, called "Scuola Vecchia") was commissioned from Raphael for Pope Leo X in 1515 to adorn the walls of the Sistine Chapel in Rome (Dimitrova). The original cartoons designed by Raphael for the Vatican's "Acts of Apostles" set are currently housed at the Victoria & Albert Museum (on loan from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II) (Dimitrova).
