Print engraving c1880s showing Jesus Christ, aged just 12, in the Temple at Jerusalem discoursing with the elders as outlined in the Gospel of Luke (Chapter 2). The incident is said to have happened after Jesus and his parents Joseph and Mary travelled to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. When the Feast was over Joseph and Mary started travelling home, thinking Jesus was with their group and unaware he had stayed behind. When they realised he was missing they returned to Jerusalem and after searching for three days found him in the temple courts having discussions with the teachers and elders and amazing them with his knowledge and understanding. He told his parents "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?". Engraving by Illman Brothers, based on a painting by J M H Hofmann.
