What's the background to the Brighton Wheel? The Brighton Wheel is new to Brighton, but not a new build. It was previously installed in Paris and in South Africa at the time of the World Cup. It cost £6 million to bring it to Brighton. It was initially named the Brighton O, but in the end became the Brighton Wheel. The company behind the Wheel is Paramount Attractions. What are its stats? The Wheel has a diameter of 45 metres, and is 50 metres above sea level at its maximum. It has 36 viewing capsules, including one "VIP" capsule. It is expected / estimated / hoped that the Wheel will attract 250, 000 visitors per year. Where is it? The Wheel is located on Dalton's Bastion, an area of the promenade along Madeira Drive, opposite the Terraces development, and just to the east of Brighton Pier. If you find the Pier, you can't miss the Brighton Wheel!
