Winchester College in Hampshire, England, war in 1382 durch William von Wykeham, Bischof von Winchester und Bundeskanzler sowohl Edward III und Richard II., und die ersten 70 armen Gelehrten gegründet, um die Schule in 1394 eingetragen. Es wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit New College, Oxford, für die es entworfen wurde, als Anleger: die Gebäude der beiden Hochschulen wurden durch Maurermeister Wilhelm Wynford entworfen zu handeln gegründet. Diese doppelte Stiftung wurde das Modell für Eton College und King's College, Cambridge, 50 Jahre später, und die Westminster School, Christ Church, Oxford, und das Trinity College, Cambridge, in Tudor times. RMMBR549–Winchester College in Hampshire, England, war in 1382 durch William von Wykeham, Bischof von Winchester und Bundeskanzler sowohl Edward III und Richard II., und die ersten 70 armen Gelehrten gegründet, um die Schule in 1394 eingetragen. Es wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit New College, Oxford, für die es entworfen wurde, als Anleger: die Gebäude der beiden Hochschulen wurden durch Maurermeister Wilhelm Wynford entworfen zu handeln gegründet. Diese doppelte Stiftung wurde das Modell für Eton College und King's College, Cambridge, 50 Jahre später, und die Westminster School, Christ Church, Oxford, und das Trinity College, Cambridge, in Tudor times.
