Symbol Plaque (Kakebotoke) mit Kannon Bosatsu. 1199 - 1299. Japan. Holz und Bronze Symbol Plaketten, oder kakebotoke wurden Anfang in der Kamakura-zeit (1185-1333) sowohl für den Einsatz in buddhistische Tempel und Shintō-Schreine produziert. Ihre runde Form ergibt sich aus der Form der polierte Bronze Spiegel. Früher kakebotoke waren aus Bronze, mit Bildern mit feinen Linien eingraviert. Runde Holz Plaketten wie diesem, mit angehängten cast Bilder und repoussé Ornamentik, diese verdrängt.
