Ab dem 31. August wurde eine Reihe von Plakaten in allen Vorräumen des Wagens angebracht, die die Vorgehensweise beim ein- und Aussteigen von Autos erklären, nachdem der Zonenfahrplan in Kraft tritt. Diese Plakate wurden wöchentlich und am Tag des Inkrafttretens wurde das dritte Plakat der Serie ausgestellt. Das Plakat wird für einige Zeit auf alle Autos kommen becarried. Commencing Aug. 31, a series of posters was carriedin all the car vestibules, explaining the procedure to befollowed in boarding and alighting from cars after thezone fare plan becomes effective. These posters werechanged weekly and on the effective day the thirdposter of the series was displayed. The poster will becarried for some time to come on all the cars. In addition to these posters all cars have, since theday the zone , fares be-came effective, carried alarge dasher sign on eachend, printed in type suf-ficiently large to beeasily read by people onthe sidewalk. During the week priorto the inauguration of theplan, moving pictures ofTaking a Trolley Ridewere displayed in someninety moving picturehouses throughout thesystem. These picturesgive in complete detail. SHOWING SIGNS ON FRONT DASHER OF CAR In the early part of August a general meeting ofdivision superintendents, supervisors, carhouse foremen, inspectors and those who had been selected as instructorswas held at the assembly hall in the Public ServiceBuilding, Newark, where the plans for instructing therank and file of the men on the cars as to the farecollection methods on the various routes was explainedin detail. This plan was to equip eight or nine cars with theactual fare collection devices and send them aroundto the various carhouses in charge of some member ofthe general instructing force. At each of these car-houses all the trainmenwere called to the car, and the fare collectionscheme was thoroughlyexplained in detail anddemonstrated, so thateach man whether motor-man or conductor had in-dividual instruction as tohis duties.
