RAW Gelände, RAW grounds. Collection of derelict industrial buildings next to the Warschauer Straße S-Bahn station. The previous owner, Deutsche Bahn, used the grounds as a train repair centre (Reichsbahn-Ausbesserungs-Werk aka RAW) from 1867 to 1994. The workshop was built in 1867 as 'Königlich-preussische Eisenbahnhauptwerkstatt Berlin'. Since 1999 the graffiti-covered buildings have provided a centre for creatives & alternative cultural projects. The RAW lands also house clubs, bars, an indoor skate park, a swimming pool club, a bunker-turned-climbing-wall and a Sunday flea market. The new owner, the Göttinger Kurth Group, wants to maintain the basic character of the area but will be developing part of the property
