Witley Court, Worcestershire, UK. 28th March 2019. Pictured: Drone images of Witley Court / Witley Court, nestled in the rolling hills of north Worcestershire, is a ruined Italianate mansion. Built for the Foleys family in the the 17th century it was extended in the early 19th century by the architect John Nash and later sold to the Earls of Dudley, when it was expanded into one of the most impressive palaces of Victorian and Edwardian England. In 1937 a major fire caused extensive damage to the house and was subsequently stripped of its fittings and furnishings. Forty years of neglect followed prior to the house and grounds being taken into the care of The Department of the Environment in 1972. Since that time, major restoration projects have secured the house as a spectacular ruin.
