Opened in the early 1960s to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Elizabeth Gardens is one of Salisbury’s most cherished and celebrated parks. The park has a planted area, a large play park (with facilities for children with disabilities), as well as ample of green space; perfect for a picnic and outdoor games. The River Avon flows through the park and there's an ideal spot by the Town Path for some paddling. Also, from here, you can access the Town Path which takes walkers past the water meadows and out to Harnham. There is also a sensory garden just off Mill Road that has added further variety to the landscape. And, don’t forget to take in the scenery with fantastic views of Salisbury Cathedral.
