Villafranca del Bierzo, Spain: Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol. On the church's north side is the famous Puerta del Perdón (Door of Forgiveness) where pilgrims whose illness prevents them from completing the Way of St. James are able to receive absolution. The door is only open during the Jacobean Holy Year when the feast of St. James falls on a Sunday. It is the only other church along the Way of St. James, besides Santiago’s Cathedral, who has the privilege.
