A set of three belaying pins used to remind the sailor at the wheel what course he must steer. Each pin has a number on each side. The wooden box that the pins are housed in has a window for each pin revealing a single number per pin. This photograph is taken aboard SPV Star Clipper whilst on the North Cyclades Cruise. The photograph was taken with a short focus and the pins and their shadows are sharp whilst the background is out of focus. Behind the bridge roof is an unrecognizable figure. In the background in front of the ships rail is a navigation console that is used to control the bow thrusters when docking. In the far background is one of the many Greek Islands.
