Weitere Informationen:
The 12-century church of St Peter's, Preston Village, Brighton, East Sussex. There is a plaque on a wall in the churchyard that reads: 'Beneath this path are deposited portions of the remains of CELIA HOLLOWAY, who was brutally murdered in the Lovers Walk in this parish, in the year of Christ 1831, aged 32 years. Actually, she was strangled in North Steyne Row (which no longer exists) in Brighton and chopped up by her estranged husband, John William Holloway. He was hanged at Horsham. Only the torso and thighs were found in a shallow grave at nearby Lovers Walk after John William transported them in a trunk on a wheelbarrow (the first Brighton Trunk Murder). Police discovered the rest of Celia after draining an outside toilet in Margaret Street, Brighton.
