Scotland's Merchant Navy Memorial on the Shore in Leith, Edinburgh. The memorial was unveiled by Princess Anne on Tuesday 16th November, 2010. It commemorates the approximately 6, 200 Scots who have been lost in the two World Wars, other previous and subsequent conflicts and in peacetime service trading throughout the world. The panels depict a variety of ships, trading routes throughout the world and figures employed in shipboard duties. It was designed and sculpted by Jill Watson.
