The Victoria Street branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland, in central London, on the day that their 21 billion hostile takeover of NatWest Bank finally went through, ending months of rancorous talks between the two. 19/02/04: The Royal Bank of Scotland was set to unveil record profits of around 7 billion which was expected to lead to fresh controversy about profiteering on the back of the rising tide of consumer borrowing.
