Queen and Prince Philip with Prince William at the opening new base of the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) in Cambridge on July 13th. The Queen has opened the new base of the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) where her grandson works as a helicopter pilot. She was greeted by Prince William as she arrived with the Duke of Edinburgh at the charity's new operating base at Cambridge Airport. The Duke of Cambridge, who has worked for the EAAA for a year, then gave them both a tour of the centre. They also viewed one of two operational H145 helicopters before unveiling a plaque and meeting some of the charity's medics, support staff and pilots. The EAAA was launched as a charity in 2000 and its pilots fly an average of five missions per day from bases in Cambridge and Norwich and cover the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. The Queen's visit lasted for about 40 minutes, then she headed back to Buckingham Palace, where she is due to meet outgoing Prime Minister David Cameron.
