Platanenhain, Mathildenhöhe, Darmstadt. Bernhard Hoetger's design of the Platanenhain was a highlight of the last exhibition of the Darmstadt Artists' Colony in 1914. He used sculptures, fountains and plane trees to create a celebration of the cycle of life and the seasons.
