Type: Antique copperplate engraved print on stiff, good quality paper. Northumberland House (originally Northampton House and later Suffolk House) stood at the far western end of the Strand from around 1605 until demolished in 1874. In its later years it overlooked Trafalgar Square. It is shown here "in the early part of the reign of Charles the first", ie in approximately 1625-1630.
