Myrtle spurge (Euphorbia myrsinites) is an A-list Noxious Weed in the US state of Colorado. Cultivating it is illegal, and landowners are required to eradicate it when found. According to the state's Department of Agriculture, it "...contains a toxic, milky sap which can cause severe skin irritations, including blistering. This plant is poisonous if ingested; causing nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Wearing gloves, long sleeves, shoes, and eye protection is highly recommended when in contact with myrtle spurge, as all plant parts are considered poisonous." It also poisons the soil around it, preventing native species from establishing. It is an invasive species native to Eurasia.
