A VC 10 jet transporter (left) and a Belfast turbojet freighter (right) are seen outside the gigantic new hangar, one of the biggest in Western Europe, officially handed over to the Royal Aor Force at Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, by Sir Cecil Mant, Controller-General of the Ministry of Public Buildings and Works. The hangar, 1, 056ft. long, 215ft. wide and 90ft. high, covers five acres and is capable of holding three 144-ton VC 10's and three 100-ton Belfasts. It has cost 1, 800, 000 and marks another stage in the development of Brize Norton as the main base for the strategic force of RAF Air Support Command.
