May day rally, London. A participant hands out literature calling for an end to wars across the world. People assemble at Clerkenwell Green at noon to participate in the rally as part of the day of international solidarity, maintaining the traditions of unity and solidarity that have been celebrated in London since the 1880's. The May day rally brings together trade union members from the many international communities in London as well as pensioners, anti globalisation organizations, students, political bodies and many others in a display of working class unity. The theme of May day is unity and solidarity - across the city, across the country, across the world. Three constant calls have been made - trade union rights, human rights, international solidarity.
