Portrait of Lynn Lowery, taken durimg "An Evening with Lynn Lowry" A very entertaining and intimate evening at FlatPlanet, Hosted by the Misty Moon Film Society. We were treated to Lynn's experiences from her rolls in two key 1970s horror films. George Romero's The Crazies and David Cronenberg's Shivers. We were also privileged to watch some of her more recent screen rolls, learn about acting career and her roles as screenwriter, producer/director and singer. Her first film appearance was I Drink Your Blood in 1970. She appeared in two key 1970s horror films, George A. Romero's The Crazies in 1973 and David Cronenberg's Shivers in 1974, followed by a sixteen-month role as the adulterer-heroine Sandra on NBC's short-lived soap opera How to Survive a Marriage, as well as a brief part on the daytime serial Another World. Lowry was also one of the two female leads in Radley Metzger's film Score (1973). She and Carl Parker are the only actors from the film who are still alive as of 2007. She performed topless and nude in several soft-core productions, including lesbian scenes. Her other film appearances include roles in Sugar Cookies (1973), Fighting Mad (1976), Cat People (1982), and Compelling Evidence (1995). She had several films due for release in 2008-9: Splatter Disco, Psychosomatika, Beyond the Dunwich Horror, Basement Jack, and Schism, which she co-wrote and co-produced. Lowry starred last in Dante Tomaselli's Torture Chamber. In 2010, Lowry made a cameo appearance in the remake of The Crazies as "Woman On Bike". She can be seen in the twenty-fourth minute of the film. She moved to Los Angeles in the early 1980s and has recently been singing jazz and show tunes with her band.
