Eating meat is important for cats, they cannot survive without the nutrients found in animal-derived materials. Compared to other carnivores, cats have fewer teeth. For example, the dog has 42 teeth, but the cat only has 30 and most of its teeth are adapted for eating meat. Cats are intelligent and need both mental and physical stimulation.
