A visual expression of the connections between deforestation and climate change. Angela Palmer's vision was realised after several months work and numerous trips to a commercially logged primary rainforest in Ghana, culminating in ten tree stumps set amongst the backdrop of London's Trafalgar Square. Out of the ten tree stumps, there are seven indigenous species represented – Denya, Dahuma, Danta, Hyedua, Mahogany, Wawa and three varieties of Celtis. The Ghost Forest tree stumps, most of which fell naturally in adverse weather conditions come from the Suhuma forest reserve in Western Ghana. This reserve is a selectively logged concession run by John Bitar and Co.
