Darren Jenkinson was convicted of killing the children four years apart when he appeared before the High Court in Glasgow earlier this month. His two-month-old son Aaron died in September 1995 while Jacob died in October 1999, when he was just three weeks old. Jenkinson was also found guilty of five charges of attempting to murder the two children in their homes in Glasgow in the weeks before they died. Jenkinson had denied the charges during his five-week trial and had claimed diminished responsibility, but the jury of eight women and seven men (correct) returned majority verdicts on all seven counts. Judge Lord McEwan deferred sentence until today for background reports.
