Detail of the entrance and one of the main buttresses at Fort Perch Rock New Brighton on the Wirral, NW UK. This impressive stone-built fort was constructed in the 19th century and formed part of the defensive emplacements for the Port of Liverpool. Today it is a popular tourist attraction and gives spectacular views across the River Mersey towards Liverpool and also across the sea towards the Isle of Man. It is close to New Brighton promenade which houses many attractions including the newly refurbished Floral Pavilion theatre. This area, once a popular seaside resort, is now undergoing a major regeneration with many new amenities and attractions. It is close to the City of Liverpool, Chester and the Cheshire countryside and also North Wales.
