Europe Italy Piedmont Sacra di San Michele abbey the fresco in the church. The peculiar element of the Sacra di San Michele is its location at the top of Mount Pirchiriano, a rocky outcrop in the group of Rocciavré in the Hautes Alpes (altitude 962 meters above sea level). Pirchiriano is the ancient name of the mountain, elegant form of Porcarianus or upstream of Pigs, like the neighboring Caprasio, or upstream of the Goats, and Musinè or upstream of the Donkeys.
