Emmanuel Kipchirchir Mutai competing for Kenya, finished 2nd in the 2013 London Marathon, in a time of 2:06:33. Ayele Abshero competing for Ethiopia, finished 3rd, in a time of 2:06:57. Emmanuel Kipchirchir Mutai (born October 12, 1984), is a long distance runner from Kenya, who specialises in marathons. He is the sixth fastest man ever over the 42.195 km distance. Initially running in half marathons, he made his debut over the full distance in 2007 and won his first race later that year at the Amsterdam Marathon. He was fourth at both the 2008 and 2009 London Marathons, but managed to reach the podium at the 2009 World Championships, claiming the silver medal. His 2010 racing saw him finish as runner-up twice at the London and New York City Marathons. At the 2011 London Marathon he won on his fourth attempt with a course record and personal best time of 2:04:40. Ayele Abshero Biza (born 28 December 1990), is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who mainly competes in cross country and road races. He came to prominence with a junior silver medal at the 2008 IAAF World Cross Country Championships before taking the junior title in 2009. He won the 2008 Zevenheuvelenloop and 2011 Egmond Half Marathon races. He made the fastest ever marathon debut in history at the 2012 Dubai Marathon, winning in a time of 2:04:23 hours which was the fourth fastest ever.
