Weitere Informationen:
The very busy Shiplake Automatic Half Barrier level crossing giving road and pedestrian access to local houses and the "Thames Path" crossing the railway line from Twyford to Henley on Thames on the Henley branch line on the Great Western railway. This crossing has been subject to many incidents of crossing abuse over the years and has only recently been fitted with automatic half barriers to prevent ingress on the crossing when a train is approaching and this is also supplemented by two "enforcement cameras" placed on either side of the crossing to ensure the crossing is operating correctly and that no one or anything is obstructing the crossing with the approach of a train. Shiplake station is now a one line railway station but was originally two separate running lines (up and down) running either side of the existing platform.
