Pic shows: Man fitting new speed cameras on Holloway Road, North London. He said this was part of a contract to fit 600 new cameras in and around London. These type of cameras can cover two lanes in each direction or four lanes at one and are activated by sensors on the road. Awarded the contract to install in the region of 600 speed and red light safety cameras for Transport for London, replacing hundreds of old “wet film” cameras with more efficient SpeedCurb and RedSpeed digital technology in order to help further reduce casualties on London’s roads. The cameras not only enforce against “red light running”, but also monitor and enforce against vehicles breaking the speed limit while going through traffic lights during the green and amber phase (“speed on green”), providing enhanced safety at junctions where the risk is higher. Civils, loops and electrical works are currently ongoing and completion is scheduled for October 2016. They were working for Transport for London / Redspeed International Ltd – Speed & Red Light Safety Cameras
