The Statues of London, England. October 2012 Seen here : The Fleet Air Arm Memorial outside the Ministry of Defence, Westminster, London. The Fleet Air Arm (FAA) is the branch of the British Royal Navy responsible for the operation of naval aircraft. The Fleet Air Arm currently operates the AgustaWestland Merlin, Westland Sea King and Westland Lynx helicopters. Helicopters such as the Lynx and Westland Wasp have been deployed on smaller vessels since 1964, taking over the roles once performed by biplanes such as the Fairey Swordfish. We pass them without so much of a glance but I decided to walk the embankment and Westminster area of London and take a good long look at the Statues of London. Most of the works are of Victorians many we have never heard of such as those who reformed the British educations system or built our drains or who gave us clean drinking water. Others are those who helped to defend this country from the Victorian era to the present day.
