The Bourke's Parrot 'Neopsephotus bourkii', formerly known as 'Neophema bourkii'. It is commonly known as the Bourke's Parakeet, the 'Bourkie', or just the 'Bourke' . It is a small grass parrot originating in Australia and the only species in its genus 'Neopsephotus'. This species is sometimes placed in the 'Neophema' genus like turquoisine and scarlet grass parrots, and there is an ongoing debate about the proper taxonomic placement for this species. It is a grass parrot around 19-21 cm long and weighing around 45-50 grams. The pink and yellow variety is a rare albino mutation, and popular amongst collectors.
