Slow going for traffic on the southbound carriageway of the M5 motorway as it approaches the M4 inter-change near Bristol. * 30/7/04: A pilot project starts later when caravanners, motorists pulling trailers and horseboxes will be advised to use the inside lane of stretch of the motorway elsewhere at Naish Hill, south of the Avonmouth Bridge, on Fridays and Saturdays. The non-enforceable pilot scheme aims to speed up traffic flow and cut congestion on the two-mile stretch of road of the southbound M5 during peak hours.
