It was a comfortably warm day just north of Mombasa. In a garden filled with Acacias and other tropical plants with exotic coloured butterflies, I saw the banana leaves with their veined unfurling structures. The sun shone on one patch of of the cone shape emphasising the veins. The whole structure left me with a peaceful sense of concord. Light, shade, vertical and horizontal clean lines created beautiful form and harmony.
