Ashbourne, Derbyshire, UK.12TH February 2013.The royal Ashbourne shrovetide football match over two days, Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday.Play starts in the shawcroft car park in the center of Town .The goals are 1.5miles apart 2 teams Up'ards and Down'ards play against each other with the aim to score a goal on the old mill stone up river(Henmore)or down depending what team your on.Play starts at 14.00pm and must finish by 22.00pm.Rules 1.Committing murder or manslaughter is prohibited.No unnecessary violence.2.The ball may not be carried by a motorized vehicle.3.The ball may not be hidden in a bag coat or rucksack.4.Cemeteries churchyards and town memorial gardens are strictly out of bounds.5, Playing after 22.00pm is forbidden.6.To score a goal the ball must be tapped 3 times in the area of the goal.
