On October 4, EGEAC celebrates World Music Day tracing a sound map in the heart of Lisbon. This is the 7th edition of Music in the Square , a celebration of music and the city. As in previous editions, the ruins of the Carmo is the privileged place for choral music, with voices of all ages of Children and Youth choirs of the University of Lisbon, Lisbon Youth Choir and Schola Cantorum choirs Polyphonia, Allegro Coral, Coral Gathering, interpreting together the Misa Criolla , written by Ariel Ramírez in 1964. The rhythms of jazz and the sound of orchestras blows invade the Largo de São Carlos with the Metropolitan Wind Orchestra, the Jazz Orchestra of the University of Évora (Ojue) and Big Band Jazz School students Luis Villas-Boas . During the afternoon, in the Chiado Museum, all are challenged to listen, learn and to experience musical instruments, participating in workshops of percussion, strings and woodwinds. In 2014, the Music in the Square extends to the iconic Town Hall Square with the energy of the Metropolitan Percussions. Is there ending a day of music with the Metropolitan Orchestra of Lisbon.
