To the east of Stirling University on the banks of the Logie Burn and beneath the hill of Dumyat lies the ruin of Old Logie Kirk. Dedicated to St Serf this romantically ruined kirk dates from around 1684 although, a church at Logie is first mentioned in a charter by the Bishop of Dunblane from 1178. Within the circular kirkyard there is a rich heritage of 17th and 18th century carved gravestones. The trade emblems carved on the stones give an interesting insight into the occupations of the previous generations of the surrounding area. Carlie Crag looms over the churchyard.
