Old childrens' party game, Errand Time, dating from the post-war austerity period, c. 1950 with an charming illustration on the box lid of a 'good' children (with the boy on his tricycle) and their dog fetching the household shopping. The aim of the game was to search out 12 items on cards placed around the house from an errand list handed to each player (household items and objects on the cards included a hat, bread, coal, stamp, lemon, lace etc - these were worth varying numbers of 'points' on the scoring system). The austerity of the times is reflected in that the contents of the game consist only of reusable pieces of card or paper. The game was manufactured by Party Games Publishing (PGP) of Luton, Bedfordshire - a vintage nineteen fifties item for editorial use only.
