The reserve is not open to the public and there are only 3 lodges operating in the park. Buffalo camp is the smallest and simplest camp with three of the chalets on stilts overlooking the Mwaleshi river. Walking is the main activity in North Luangwa as there are few roads, although it is possible to do limited game viewing as well as night drives from the camp. Buffalo Camp is unique in that it is very happy to welcome families with childern and is often combined with a trip to the Shiwa N'gandu Estate and Kapishya Springs Lodge. You need to fly into North Luangwa on a private or shared charter.
