Located in the hamlet of Standish, Gloucestershire, the NHS hospital has been closed since 2004. The site is currently being redeveloped into a housing estate, with the original White building which was once a private house which is being kept and developed into modern homes. The Post war and Art Moderne building of which these set of images were taken will most probably be knocked down in favour of redeveloping the existing site. Spending a day at the hospital wing, I was able to take these images to show how the time has ravaged the building after it has stood empty for so long. Nature along with the elements are claiming back the site which has created a very photogenic atmosphere. This is reminiscent of what would be deemed as a location within the film industry as Post Apocalyptic or a Horror scene. It was an enjoyable time spent there and glad to be able to capture the buildings final days before it is gone forever.
