Lagonda is a British luxury car brand established in 1906, which has been owned by Aston Martin since 1947. The trade-name has not had a continuous commercial existence, being dormant several times, most recently from 1995 to 2008, 2010 to 2013, and 2016 onward. The Lagonda LG45 was a two-door tourer manufactured from 1936 to 1937. Only 25 were constructed, and its rarity makes it one the most desirable pre-war vehicles manufactured by Lagonda. The car was designed by Frank Feeley and featured large front fenders, four seats, two cutaway doors "suicide doors", and external chrome exhausts. It was dubbed "the world's fastest car" by Lagonda upon the LG45's introduction, and was capable of reaching up to 108 mph. The LG45 was fitted with an overhead valve 4.5 litre Sanction III Meadows inline-6 engine rated at 130 hp and featured a four-speed manual gearbox.
