Les Oluges is a municipality in the Segarra region, located on both sides of the upper valley on the banks of the River Sió. The town is crowned by the castle of Oluja, which was part of the Berga region in the 11th century, within the county of Cerdanya. In the 14th century, the lords of the castle were the Oluja family. In 1433 it became part of the neighborhood of Cervera. The modality of Catalan said chipella is spoken. Rainfed crops occupy almost the entire term, predominantly (barley and wheat), followed by olive trees, almond trees and vineyards, which had been of great importance before the phylloxera crisis. Livestock and poultry farming complement the economy.
