S Siemensstadt. Abandoned S-bahn railway station on the Siemensbahn line built 1927-1929 by Siemens & Halske - Siemensstadt, Spandau, Berlin The Siemensbahn is an abandoned S-bahn railway line in Siemenstadt, Berlin The four and a half kilometre line has 3 stations Wernerwerk, Siemensstadt and Gartenfeld and was used between 1929 and 1980 when the Reichhsbahn strike resulted in its closure. The company Siemens & Halske built the route between 1927 and 1929 to provide transport for the workers of the new industrial area The Siemensbahn starts at Jungfernheide station where it connects to the Ringbahn. From there, it runs to the west for a couple of Kilometres before heading north and crossing the Spree river to arrive at the Wernerwerk station. It follows a curved right-angle path to arrive at the Siemensstadt station in Rohrdamm. It then heads North West for about a kilometre to terminate at Gartenfeld Station near the Schifffahrts shipping canal. The entire line is on a viaduct with only the Gertenfeld terminus being at ground level The terminus had an signal box and a six-track storage facility. The disused Gartenfeld buildings were used as garden center but this is now closed.
