Leicester City reached the final of the Asia Trophy after a penalty shoot-out against West Brom at the Hong Kong Stadium. Riyad Mahrez¯s superb solo effort had cancelled out Jay Rodriguez¯s stunning strike in the first half but, in energy-sapping conditions, neither side could find a winner and the game drifted towards a first-ever ABBA penalty shoot-out, where the side taking the second penalty also take the third. Marc Albrighton scored the decisive spot-kick after Ben Hamer saved Sam Field¯s strike to ensure City will compete for the trophy on Saturday evening.
