Illustration from Queen Victoria by Richard Holmes, published in 1897 on Japanese paper by Boussod, Valadon & Co as a limited edition of 350. After Sir George Hayter (1792-1871). Info from wiki: Dash (1830–1840) was a King Charles Spaniel owned by Queen Victoria. Victoria's biographer Elizabeth Longford, called him "the Queen's closest childhood companion" Dash died at the end of 1840, and was buried at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor Home Park.
