The employees of AIDES , France's Largest Anti-AIDS NGO, have decided on a day strike, Friday, February 14 . " We protest against the redundancy plan, in order to safeguard threatened jobs by management" A reaction to the Redundancy plan, a Protest strike of employees of Aides NGO, was held on February 14 After releasing the news on January 16 , the employees of AIDES , at the General Meeting on February 7 , have decided on a day strike Friday, February 14 . " We intend to protest against the redundancy plan to safeguard employment (PSE ) decided by management, at this stage of the negotiations, who want to get rid of employees at lower cost, without guaranteeing them decent conditions of departure and reclassification. The negotiations are not progressing , "explained the strikers supported by the French Labor Unions, the Inter CGT, CFDT , FO, and the SUD. The striking employees believe that the survival of the organization is threatened by the redundancy plan provided by management, in a context where the fight against AIDS is in crisis. Certainly AIDES does not mean a similar crisis, as Act Up Paris, also in serious financial trouble . AIDES resources are increasing. But according to the employees , "there remains the Government , who are very glad we take on its public service tasks , such as screening or prevention , but who turns silent in this crisis." " What will happen tomorrow if our association is forced to abandon its actions with vulnerable populations that the state government is unable to achieve ? , They ask . Finally, what about its responsibilities as the main funder of AIDES ? " . Armed with these questions that go beyond the fate of employees , unions demand to be received by Marisol Touraine , the Minister of Health , as the main funder.
