A decisive blend of raw soul and jazz influences, Areejs sound is a full-bodied experience which shifts with her mood. Bloodshed is subtle, yet powerful, and takes the listener on a journey through pain as Areej dreams of escape. Describing her own voice as quite hoarse and raw in this record, she recorded the track with a heavy heart and an occupied mind.
