--FILE--LOreal cosmetics and skincare products are for sale at a shopping mall in Nantong city, east Chinas Jiangsu province, 29 December 2012. LOreal SAs growth in China is booming, its chief executive said Thursday (18 April 2013), a contrast to the slowdown in spending many consumer-goods makers are experiencing in the worlds biggest growth market. Sales growth is even accelerating in LOreals luxury segment, home to brands including Lancome, he said. Since the beginning of the year the business is growing very fast, around 20%, CEO Jean-Paul Agon said in an interview as the French cosmetics giant reported first-quarter sales. Overall quarterly sales rose 5.1% to 5.93 billion euros (US$7.78 billion). China was one of the drivers, but even more mature markets, such as North America, where its Maybelline and Garnier brands are best sellers, contributed.
