--FILE--Li Xiaopeng, governor of Shanxi province and the son of former Chinese premier Li Peng, speaks at a plenary discussion of the First Session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing, China, 7 March 2013. Shanxi governor Li Xiaopeng - the son of former Chinese premier Li Peng - is visiting the United States "with the consent of central government", official media have reported. The Shanxi Daily said that governor Li - who was the president of state-owned power company China Huaneng before taking his Shanxi role in 2008 - began a five-day trip to Idaho and Wyoming on Monday (15 June 2015).The news follows much speculation involving Li Xiaopeng's sister. Last week, news that Li Xiaolin would not be on the management team of the newly formed State Power Investment Group - a merger between State Nuclear Power Technology and China Power Investment, which she once led - surprised many people, particularly since the Li family was seen as highly influential in the power sector. The development came as the Communist Party's top anti-graft agency released its report on China Power Investment - one of several state-owned power companies targeted by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection in its first round of assessments this year. Li Xiaolin was absent from China Power International Development's annual general meeting in Hong Kong last Wednesday. She is the chairman of the company, which is a subsidiary of China Power Investment.
