Led Zeppelin, formed in 1968 became one of the leading groups of the 60s. This picture shows l -r John Bonner drummer, Peter Grant their manager, Jimmy Page their lead guitarist and Robert Plant vocals. Their first two albums 'Led Zeppelin' and 'Led Zeppelin II' were both big hits in the U.S. with Led Zeppelin II making no 1 in the U, S, and the U.K. charts 'Led Zeppelin III' followed and was an equal success. The fourth album was issued under no name just four symbols, it too was a massive hit. The album included 'Stairway To Heaven' on of the most popular rock songs ever recorded. As of 2004 they had sold 22 million copies making it the fourth biggest selling album in the history of the U.S. They received the Polar Music Prize from the King of Sweden last year (2006).
