All drivers of Blackpool hackney vehicles have enhanced CRB clearance, and have recently been trained either by Blackpool College or Beneast in Taxi Training NVQ level 2. Drivers now have chip n pin technology in the cab, so it is easy to pay by card. Blackpool taxis are fitted with calendar controlled meters. This means that the drivers cannot put the meter on the wrong tariff. This is an automatic process. Many are now fitted with CCTV which gives security for passengers and for the driver. Images and recordings are automatically deleted, unless of course an incident occurs. Many of our taxis have a direct driver to driver radio system, which helps us to improve our customer service to ensure that passenger waiting time is kept to a minimum.
